Sports Metrics

WHAT IS SPORTSMETRICS™?

Developed by renowned orthopedic physician, Dr. Frank Noyes, and his team at Cincinnati Sports Medicine, Sportsmetrics™ is the first and largest ACL injury prevention program and SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN to decrease serious knee injuries in female athletes. This program incorporates specific jumping drills to help teach athletes safe mechanics and how to control their lower body in a way to help decrease the stress put on the knees. Sportmetrics™ also includes strength as well as speed and agility training to help athletes attain their highest potential in their sport-specific skills.

Sportsmetrics™ has been proven to:

•Reduce the risk of serious knee injury
•Increase vertical jump height, up to 4inches
•Improve hamstrings to quadriceps strength and symmetry in right-to-left leg power
•Improve landing mechanics and reduce side-to-side movements at the knee

Who is at risk for knee injuries?
Knee ligament injury rates are 2-10 times higher in female athletes than in male athletes. The majority of these injuries are non-contact, occurring in sports involve pivoting, cutting or jumping. The ACL controls the pivoting and forward motion of the knee joint, along with the hamstring muscles. If these muscles are not adequately prepared, jumping/twisting motions may create sheer forces, which can tear the ACL. An ACL injury may sideline and athlete for 6-12 months.

Why is Sportsmetrics™ training so unique?
Sportsmetrics™ is NOT just another plyometric training program. This program is designed and structured to progress the athlete from technique development to performance enhancement. Athletes will be supervised throughout every session by a licensed physical therapist. Each athlete will have a training log to chart progress and also receives the Sports Injury Test Report pre-training and post-training to see improvement.

Precision Physical Therapy can offer the Sportsmetric™ 6 week training program on an individual basis at our clinical site or group/team training at a school/community site. Contact us for additional information about pricing and scheduling your training today.
